Empowering Botswana & SADC through Energy Innovation, Technology Training & Policy Dialogue
The Institute of Energy and Technology Development (IETD) has hosted a growing portfolio of physical and virtual events aimed at raising awareness, building skills, and stimulating dialogue in emerging industries. These include the Botswana Hemp Impact Conference 2025 (BHIC 2025), the BHIC 2025 media launch, a strategic session on lithium opportunities for Botswana and SADC, a virtual training on Mental Health Promotion for TVET and STEM Industries, a sustainability webinar on Carbon, Biochar and Sustainable Farming, and a policy-focused webinar on enabling industrial hemp in SADC through international lessons on separating hemp from cannabis laws.
Through these events, IETD continues to use knowledge platforms and MICE-driven engagement to support innovation, policy awareness, and sector adoption across Southern Africa.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and workforce readiness, creating pathways for sustainable economic growth across the region. We partner with government agencies, industry leaders, and educational institutions to deliver practical, accredited training that meets real-world demands.
